Study Programme Information
In the 2009-2010 academic year, the Polytechnic School of Cuenca of the UCLM included a new Bachelor’s Degree certificate in Building Engineering, replacing the Technical Architecture degree.
Following the reform of Spanish Universities for their adaptation to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), the Bachelor’s Degree in Building Engineering is the qualification that will enable its holders to practice the profession of Technical Architect (Order ECI/3855/2007, of 27 December, which establishes the requirements for the verification of official university degrees for practising the profession of Technical Architect (Official State Gazette 29/12/2007).
The Bachelor’s Degree in Building Engineering is a new qualification for an esteemed profession with a long history: Technical Architect. This profession was preceded by those of Surveyors and Master Builders.
The Technical Architecture degree does not have an equivalent in other countries. The Bachelor’s Degree in Building Engineering is clearly recognised in Europe and favours academic and professional mobility between countries.
