Early Childhood Education

In the Study Plans of the teaching degrees at UCLM, the teaching practice placement sessions are structured into two subjects: Practicum I, of 18 credits which is to be undertaken in the first term of the third course and Practicum II, of 24 credits which to is to be undertaken in the second semester of the fourth course. The Practicum allows the student to experience the real-life context in which they are to develop their professional future and relate the theory learned in other subjects of the Degree Study Plan with the reality of the classroom and the center. As well, they will be able to apply the knowledge and skills learned in their degree in a way that is guided and properly oriented, which will make the acquisition of the necessary competences for a practising professional possible.

The Ordinances ECI / 3857/2007 y ECI / 3854/2007 of 27 December (BOE de 29 de diciembre de 2007) that the requisites for the verification of official university degrees that enable the practising of the profession of the Early Childhood Education and Primary Education determine that in regards to the Planning of Teachings that the Practicum is to be developed in Early Childhood Education  and Primary Education Centres recognized as teaching practice placement training facilities through agreements between the Educative Administrations and the universities. Teacher practice placement must be carried out in-person and will be tutored by university professors, Early Childhood Education teachers, and Primary Education teachers who have been accredited as Teaching Practice Placement Tutors.

As the planning of the Practicum is a competence of the Faculties of Education at UCLM, so the Advisory Board of Education, Culture and Sport is the body that, as specified by the Ordinance of 05/06/2012, governs the development of the teacher practice placement for university students, in non-university teaching-learning centers supported by the public funds of the autonomous community of Castilla-La Mancha, establishing an institutional relationship so as to guarantee the teacher-in-training the experience established in the Educational Project.
