Under the premise of no money | no selection | not sworn | non-return 214 artists or postal groups from 27 countries have participated in the III Call for Mail Art of the MIDECIANT tribute to Ibirico (1950-2021); more than 362 works from Germany, Argentina, Austria, Belarus, Canada, Spain, France, Hungary, Italy, Iran, Japan, Malaysia, Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Romania, Russia, Serbia, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Uruguay, USA.
In 2018, MIDE-CIANT-UCLM received an important donation from Ibirico, César Reglero and VALDOR (Salvador Benincasa). This first donation that contained work and documentation from more than 800 artists allowed us to start the MIDE-CIANT Postal Art collection. Thanks to the active and constant help of César Reglero and Ibirico, others from important artists began to join this donation: Alfonso Aguado, Pere Sousa, José Emilio Antón and Manuel Xio during the years 2019 and 2020; Nel Amaro, Diego Segura, and La Fira Mágica de Santa Susana in 2021; Lois Gil Magariños, Maya López, Manuel Ruiz, José María Calleja, Marta Bosch & Lois Gil Magariños in 2022; Hans Braumuller & Ruggero Maggi, Sérgio Monteiro de Almeida, Marta Bosch and the last one received from the Zenon Workshop (Miguel Jiménez) in 2023.
The collection includes all types of Postal Art, in which we can find postcards and artist envelopes, artist stamps, collages, pad prints, copy art, digital art, objects, visual poetry, experimental poetry, engravings, drawings, artist books, editions, fanzines, assembled magazines, audiovisual material and a large amount of documentation about artists and the movement itself, without forgetting dozens of self-published catalogs and information about national and international calls that have given shape and life to the movement.
